Cathedral Big Building Blocks

In an age of globalization, it feels important to slow down and pay attention to local culture and small, sincere stories. This large construction set tells an old Slavic fairy tale — one where terems stand in place of palaces, bogatyrs take the place of knights, and a gray wolf replaces the dragon.

Assembled together, the pieces form a large, beautiful picture of a cathedral. But individually, each piece can become anything at all. The oblong pieces can easily turn into a bridge, a path, or a railroad. Houses disassemble into their component parts and transform into a depot, the back of a sea kite, or the ears of the Easter Bunny. Hours of play unfold this way — new stories forming again and again, never quite the same twice.

The set is genuinely large in scale, making it a wonderful thing to bring out on a rainy day when boredom sets in, or to offer children after a noisy birthday party has wound down.

Production:
Carefully handcrafted from ethically sourced solid wood, bringing out the quiet beauty of its grain and natural character.

Features:
The pieces are made of carefully grown and slowly dried linden wood, coated with safe, water-based paints. Neutral pastel tones are combined with rich, festive colors — and when held in hand, the natural texture of the wood shows softly through the paint.
